Patrick Walters joins UK TV team from See-Saw

Patrick Walters, the exec behind Netflix hit Heartstopper is heading to A24.

The producer, who also ushered Sky-Starz original Sweetpea, joins from See-Saw where he has worked since 2014 and ran the in-house label Fanboy. He oversaw three series of the Netflix youth-skewing drama Heartstopper, which will end with a feature-length finale later this year.

Other credits include The Essex Serpent for Apple TV and he has previously helped to develop series including Slow Horses for the streamer and The North Water for BBC2.

Walters will join A24’s London-based UK team, which is led by Piers Wenger and Rose Garnett, with the ambition of growing the group’s global TV slate.

He will be part of a senior creative team which also includes newly appointed Laura Lankester and Will Johnston.

The A24 UK team’s upcoming slate includes Channel 4 drama Major Players and It Gets Worse as well as Michael Coel’s First Day on Earth for the BBC/HBO and The Husbands by Miriam Battye for Apple TV+.
