Network will use technology to help human team accelerate production process

Spirit Studios has launched an AI-generated factual digital channel.
10 Minute History, Spirit’s first to put the technology at the centre of a digital offering, is aimed at telling fun, interesting stories from the past; with each episode broken into minute-long chapters with natural cliffhangers to keep modern audiences engaged from start to finish.
This format allows every episode to be distributed as ten standalone one-minute clips, making the channel native to both YouTube and social platforms.
10 Minute History blends AI with traditional roles. The production team comprises human voiceover, producer, channel manager and editor, all of whom help ensure editorial integrity and quality control at every stage.
AI is used to accelerate content generation and enable a consistent, cinematic finish, freeing the team to focus on narrative, pacing and audience experience.
While the initial focus is on short-form, bite-sized storytelling, Spirit’s plans include expanding into longer formats such as 30-minute and 60-minute history specials and scaling the brand into new verticals, such as 10 Minute Politics and 10 Minute News.
The indie is also developing 10 Minute History into a multi-platform franchise spanning formats and genres.
Matt Campion, Spirit’s creative director, said: “This isn’t about replacing human creativity. It’s about enhancing it. Every story is shaped, guided, and crafted by people, from producers and editors to voiceover artists and channel managers.
“AI is part of the workflow, helping us scale and streamline production, from structuring scripts to generating visuals and music, but the storytelling itself remains deeply human.”
