Three IT and telecoms industry veterans have become directors of Base Media Cloud after investing in the Storage-as-a-Service firm.

Richard Pearce’s CV includes senior financial management roles with Xyratex, Seagate and IBM.

Bob Rainford was chief financial officer of BT’s mobile division at the launch of the Cellnet (now O2) mobile telecom service in 1985, while Neil Munday worked with Arcada, Seagate Software, Veritas, and Sapaton and was a major shareholder and chief executive of id7.

At the same time Base has appointed former Halo facility director Paul Wilkes and Jem Parks, previously of Molinare, as account managers.

“Paul’s depth of technical and commercial experience in the media facilities sector, working both directly within the post community, as well as in the innovative world of cloud-based Software as a Service will be of invaluable benefit to the growth of our business,” said Base founder and managing director Ben Foakes.

“Our whole company ethos is about providing helpful, value-adding solutions for our clients, and Jem’s approach to both communication and quality of customer service will be at the heart of the business as we continue to roll out new services on the Base Media Cloud platform in the coming months.”

Foakes launched Base Media Cloud earlier this year.
