Asset management, QC and subtitling service ITFC is testing a digital delivery network with The Farm with the aim of removing tape from programme distribution.

Although The Farm currently edits digitally, it has to output to a master tape for couriering to certain broadcasters.

“We intend to take the finished programme file directly from the post-production house as a master file, and then route it to broadcasters - effectively becoming a digital courier,” said Ian Beushaw, head of digital media at ITFC.

ITFC will perform treatments on the digital master files such as creating different delivery formats or files for compliance and subtitling.

“We plan to extend the service to several leading Soho facilities,” added Beushaw.

ITFC handles the bulk of acquired programming for Five and ITV.
