Broadcast launches awards to celebrate creative use of technology in production and post

Broadcast has created a set of awards to celebrate the innovative use of technology in production and post-production.

The inaugural Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards recognise the exceptional teams behind the most outstanding broadcast productions of the past year.

Rather than awarding prizes to individual technology products, the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards shine a spotlight on the industry talent using this technology in the most creative and inventive ways.

The categories for the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards are split into five themes: sport; immersive; creative excellence; cloud and media management; and standout talent.

The sport theme rewards pioneering uses of technology in a sporting or live event. The immersive theme celebrates both the most practical and most creative immersive applications across all genres. The creative excellence theme recognises post-production houses and production teams behind the most inspiring, creative TV productions of the year. The cloud and media management theme identifies leading-edge tech innovations in new production workflows, and the standout talent theme honours the exceptional talent and standout productions of the past year.

The Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards are now open for UK and international entries and the deadline is 7 June. The winners will be judged by a panel of industry experts and announced on 17 October 2019 at a gala event at 8 Northumberland Avenue (pictured). The event will include a drinks reception, three-course dinner and after-party.
