Post Clear Cut Pictures

Brief Full post-production on a 1 x 30-minute BBC3 doc about gun crime in America.

How it was done First-time director Lindsey Mace investigated the murder of 19-year-old Tavin Price, who was shot four times for wearing the wrong colour shoes. The production combines rushes of the police with surveillance footage. Clear Cut colourist Graeme Hayes used Baselight to emphasise the violent nature of the footage, exploiting the user-generated content for reality and impact. Head of online Dan Preston-Bear used Avid Symphony to colour-co-ordinate graphics to identify each gang as the story unfolded. The audio post-production, using Pro Tools, accentuated the extreme nature of gangland violence that underpins life for some people in the US today.
