It currently offers five stages with more to be added in 2023

London Film Studios has officially launched its first five stages, totalling over 25,000 sq ft of production space.

Based on the banks of the River Lee Navigation in Enfield, North London, the facility offers a 4988 sq ft U-shaped cove stage (Stage A), a 2256 sq ft drive-in green screen stage (Stage B), a 3264 sq ft U-shaped cove stage (Stage C), a 6000 sq ft black stage (Stage D) and a 9405 sq ft warehouse stage (Stage E). Further stages are expected to be added in 2023.

London Film Studios has been created by Danny Hayward, who also co-founded SHL Film & TV Lighting in 2008. Being launched by someone with extensive experience in lighting rental, all London Film Studios’ stages feature motorised grids, and they all feature dual aspect 3-phase power sources, one on either side of the stage and one specifically for dimmer packs, which eliminate the need for cables to be trunked from one side to the other.

The studio was assisted in its launch by start-up support via the Productive Valley Fund, a business support fund between Upper Lee Valley councils Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest.

Hayward said: “London Film Studios was an obvious, and natural extension of the SHL brand and I’m proud of the truly unique space that we’ve created.  It’s an exciting time for the film and television industries and there’s never been a better time to introduce LFS to the market.  Ultimately, we believed that SHL could do studios better and London Film Studios is the result of that ambition.”
