Three new hires arrive as president, executive in charge, and global head of production

JP Burge MPC

MPC has made three hires to its leadership team, following parent company Technicolor Creative Studios’ listing on the Paris Euronext stock exchange in September.

Jean-Paul Burge has been made global president, who was most recently at advertising agency BBDO. He had been CEO and chairman of BBDO Asia since 2015, originally joining the company in 2004 before leaving earlier this year. His focus at MPC will be talent and operations oriented, and he will report to CEO of Technicolor Creative Studios Christian Roberton.

Burge will be supported by Stephanie Allen, who becomes executive in charge - client services. Allen had been at Paramount Pictures since 2009, originally as VP of VFX and eventually rising to lead its VFX division. In addition to her extensive experience, Allen has worked with MPC as a client in the past.

Finally, Chris Burn is the new global head of production. He was previously at DNEG for 18 years, rising from head of 2D for over 11 years to leading its London studio since September 2020. He has also worked at Weta, and his creative credits include Alien vs Predator, Batman Begins, and The Matrix Reloaded.

Roberton said: “Appointing Jean-Paul as president is a strategic investment for MPC following our spin-off last September. Jean-Paul has extensive experience running international creative businesses and has worked with the biggest names in entertainment throughout his storied career.

“He will be supported by Stephanie Allen, a stellar executive from Paramount who will focus on strengthening our client services capabilities, and Chris Burn, whose unparalleled expertise will be a key asset for the ambitious visual effects we are producing every day for Hollywood. This is a winning team, and I couldn’t be more excited to be writing the next chapter of MPC with them.”

Burge added: “I am thrilled to be joining MPC, an iconic VFX leader in film and episodic, and an incredible global team of visual artists as Technicolor Creative Studios embarks on a dynamic new independent chapter. Alongside the new executive team, my focus as president will be to build upon the brand’s leading reputation for quality in the entertainment industry, while scaling excellent client service and the business worldwide.”
