ITN Post explains its involvement in the remote production of the lockdown version of the TV staple

I'm a celeb

ITN Post is working on the full post-production for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The post house is collaborating with on-site technology partners Cutting Edge, Gravity Media and NEP Connect to create dedicated facilities for the programme, which is taking place in Wales and being edited remotely.

ITN Post has been testing the technology used for the production since the end of October. It involves dedicated diverse fibre circuits being installed that enable footage to be ingested in Wales and edited remotely from London by a team of 26 editors working across a 24 hour shift pattern.

The Covid-safe edit model for the series reverses the remote working system created by ITN Post during the pandemic, where editors have been working on computers from home using technology based in ITN Post HQ on Gray’s Inn Road.

The setup for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has the technology based in Wales, but with editors working on computers in London.

ITN director of post production Olly Strous said: “Remote production was previously largely limited to sports, but we now know that need not be the case. Our remote production setup has proven itself during the pandemic and the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! setup demonstrates how flexible the technology can be and that there is still a huge amount of potential for further development.”
