The broadcast equipment hire company expects to make use of the 45 UE100 4K PTZ cameras to support demand in unscripted and factual production.

Presteigne Broadcast Hire (PBH) has made a significant investment in 45 Panasonic AW-UE100 PTZ cameras.

The company expects to use the cameras to support demand in unscripted and factual production, which continues to grow. They complement PBH’s existing range of Panasonic rental stock, including AW-UE150 and AW-HE130 cameras, as well as AW-RP150 camera controllers.

The AW-UE100 integrated pan/tilt/zoom camera supports a wide variety of IP transmission protocols, including high-bandwidth NDI, high-efficiency NDI|HX and Secure Reliable Transport (SRT). It also has a newly-designed direct drive motor for smooth pan and tilt movement and offers installation flexibility, low noise and high-resolution image capture.

PBH CEO, Adrian Young, said: “The small form factor and high quality imaging has radically changed the way that film-makers work, opening up a range of new creative possibilities. Using this more discrete type of camera, there is a greater “fly on the wall” feel to the footage as documentary subjects quickly become far less self-conscious and as a result we see demand continuing to grow.”

Based near Gatwick Airport and in Warrington, PBH provides a range of technical production solutions from dry hire supply to the full turn-key provision of portable production units with engineers. It has worked on the likes of the Boat Race, European Football Championships, FIFA World Cup and Rugby World Cup.
