De Burgh has been appointed senior producer of global content development and will work alongside fellow senior producers Dexter Harries and Jeroen Groot in the global development team.

Reporting into James Townley, chief content officer, development, Banijay Entertainment, the trio focus on strengthening and boosting Banijay’s unscripted pipeline, supporting the creation of new IP which resonates globally, from concept to series launch.

The department also encompasses third-party format acquisitions led by head of acquisitions Helen Greatorex. Townley runs Creative Networks with Lucas Green, Banijay’s chief content officer, operations, who, with his team, provides creative best practise for formats once the launch run is completed in its home market.

De Burgh exec produced shows including Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (Hungry Bear for BBC1), What Would Your Kid Do? (Twofour for ITV), 5 Gold Rings (Possessed for ITV) and Pop Quiz: the Comeback (BBC4), while his series producer credits include The Million Pound Drop (Remarkable for C4), Pointless (Remarkable for BBC1) and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITVS and Lifted for ITV).

He joined Banijay last month having previously had a stint at Studio Ramsay Global as creative director of development

A former Channel 4 commissioner, De Burgh founded and served as creative director of Lingo producer and Objective Media Group (OMG) label Triple Brew Media, which he launched with Ben Shephard in 2019, until its closure in 2024 as part of an OMG restructure.

Prior to this he served in central development at OMG, where he devised the relaunch of The Cube (The Million Pound Cube) for ITV1.
