STV Studios indie has no plans to recruit successor after Adeel Amini returns to his ’first love of production’
Late Night Lycett and The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan indie Rumpus Media is not actively seeking a head of entertainment following the departure of incumbent Adeel Amini, Broadcast understands.
The Lingo exec has returned to the freelancing and was revealed as the series editor of South Shore’s upcoming ITV1 10-part gameshow tentpole The Floor yesterday (13 August).
Amini had joined the STV Studios label from Objective Media Group a year ago, in the newly created role of head of entertainment, having been a series producer for ITV hit game show Lingo.
STV Studios-owned Rumpus, which this week was revealed as a co-producer on four-part Orient Express documentary for Channel 4 with High Rock Media, will continue to develop, pitch and win commissions.
The label is behind series comedy ents titles Late Night Lycett and The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan and currently led by acting managing director Josephine Brassey.
Returning to ‘first love’
Commenting on his forthcoming editor role on The Floor, Amini said in a LinkedIn post that he is “going back to my first love of production” with the ITV show.
He added: “I’ve been a huge fan of this format ever since I first saw it, so I’m massively excited to be bringing this to UK screens.”
