Splice has hired Jules Woods as its head of scripted sound and re-recording mixer.

Woods arrives after almost seven years at The Farm as a senior re-recording mixer - where the scripted sound team is now known as part of Formosa Group. Before that, he was at Technicolor for a decade, first as a sound mastering engineer before becoming a re-recording mixer for six years from 2010.

Woods’ credits include Save Me for Sky, Adult Material for Channel 4, The Split, The Responder, and Crossfire for the BBC, as well as recently completing work on Philip Barantini’s new feature film Accused (WT) from XYZ Films.

He is also a member of the Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS) and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS) and is also a full voting member of BAFTA.

Woods said: “From the moment I first met the team at Splice, their passion and creativity shone through and that makes me so thrilled to be joining them. I love creating immersive, dynamic mixes which help to tell the stories and heighten the emotion of the projects I’m lucky enough to work on. I thrive on developing a connection with my clients and collaborating with directors, producers and writers from as early in the filmmaking process as possible. I know Splice will be the perfect place to hone in my skills.”

Splice’s MD Rich Folley added: “Jules creative talent is second to none and we’re delighted he’s joining us at Splice. His experience and talent will add an enormous amount to our team and our offering to our clients as we continue to push for creative excellence. His reputation within the industry is impeccable, the messages of congratulations to us have been pouring in and I couldn’t agree more with them all as well as feel delighted he’s with us.

“Jules is more than just a creative talent though, he’s an extraordinary empath and his attitude and his deft touch with both clients and colleagues alike really stand him apart and he adds perfectly to the culture we aspire to here at Splice.’’
