Speight joins from Scanline VFX, after working at DNEG and MPC

Misc Studios has appointed Marianne Speight as its VFX managing director.

Speight arrives after 18 months as a VFX producer at Scanline VFX. She was previously global head of bidding and development at DNEG for almost four years, and VFX producer plus new business VFX producer at MPC for over eight years. Speight also served as VFX producer for Peerless Camera Company.

At Misc Studios, which currently working on projects with Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, and has recent work on Willow coming out on Disney+ later this month, Speight will ocus on gaining new business and developing stronger relationships with major content partners across the industry alongside the studio’s production teams.

She will work with CEO Adam Luckwell and co-founder Micheal Elson.

Misc launched earlier this year, with a central London office. Luckwell also runs advertising post house Unit, while Elson has over 30 years experience in the industry, including ten years as COO of MPC between 1998 and 2008.
