Bernard Hayes Design has created the opening sequence for Himalaya with Michael Palin. Palin's 2,000-mile journey takes him through the Himalayan states, from the Khyber Pass to the Bay of Bengal. Within the titles, the camera follows Palin through temples and over mountains. Digibeta footage of K2 and Everest were texture mapped onto 3D objects modelled by Alan Bassett using Maya, while other landscapes were constructed entirely in 3D. Himalaya airs on BBC1 on Sunday, 3 October at 9pm.
